REMINDER: Fifth Grade through Eighth Grade will walk to Tivoli for Field Trip on Tuesday, from 9:15 - 11:30. Students will see the play, A Thousand Cranes. This is a story about a young Japanese girl losing her life and the tradition of hope in the Japanese culture.
Fifth Grade Math
Students begin Chapter 11, Geometry, this week. We will study lines, polygons, triangles and Quadrilaterals. A Quiz on these concepts will be held on Monday, May 6th. Each week from now until the end of the year, students will be given a problem solving WS due on Fridays.
Fourth Grade Math
Students begin Chapter 12, Adding & Subtracting Fractions with Like Denominators this week. There will be an open notes quiz on this concept on Friday. That will wrap up our study of Fractions! A Graded Homework assignment, given on Friday, is due on Tuesday, April 30 (Textbook 320-321). Each week from now until the end of the year, students will be given a problem solving WS due on Fridays. Continue practicing basic multiplication facts as we see how important they are in working with fractions.

This fantasy genre selection deals with the setting of New York city.
We continue looking at figurative language of similes metaphors and
personification. We anticipate beginning a Jerry Spinelli Novel the
week of May 6th.
Spelling: Lesson 33. Workbook due Thursday; Test on Friday.
Vocabulary: Unit 15 Vocab Workbook is due on Thursday. Test on Friday.
