Week of March 16

Happy St. Patricks Day

MATH

Fourth Grade

4th graders did VERY WELL on the Chapter 7 Tests. We will take a Computation Test on Monday just like the Computation Review Packet completed on Friday.  Next, we will take the final Diocesan Extended Response Assessment on Tuesday using the Build A Table strategy to identify the rule of a pattern.  Next, we begin Chapter 8 Finding Parts of a Group (multiply fractions by whole numbers).  There may be a short quiz on Friday, the last day of the quarter.  We continue to practice simplifying fractions each day with our "Shamrock Simplify" presentations.
Use Carmen San Diego Math Models Skills 33-34, to practice concepts from Chapter 8. Remember we need to share logins 1-4 at this time.

Multiplication Facts: Students will be receiving multiplication fact homework each week in order to master their facts. They are responsible for writing facts 5x each. You can print your own worksheets to practice from Math-drills.com, play online games (see Math Websites Tab above), or borrow some "Holey Cards" from Mrs. Hall.

Fifth Grade

5th graders will take the final Diocesan Extended Response Assessment on Monday as they build a coordinate grid to display points in the Mall.  We will begin Chapter 8, Dividing Fractions on Tuesday and have a short quiz on Friday, the last day of the quarter.
Use Carmen San Diego Math Models, Skills 29-30, to help with Chapter 8 skills. GOMATH Online Access:  To use the website we should continue to share the logins for numbers 1 - 4 ( instead of individual student numbers).

Multiplication Facts: Continue practicing multiplication facts at home because they are ESSENTIAL for Fractions. You can print your own worksheets from Math-drills.com, play online games (see Math Websites Tab above), or borrow some "Holey Cards" from Mrs. Hall.
