MATH

Fourth Grade
This week 4th graders will cover Chapter 6 Lessons 5 - 8, as we learn to compare fractions to benchmarks of 1/2, and compare by making equivalent fractions using common denominators. There will be a Quiz on Friday, and the Chapter Test on Wednesday 2/11.  Use Carmen San Diego Math Model Skills 23-26, to practice concepts from Chapter 6. Remember we need to share logins 1-4 at this time.

Multiplication Facts: Students will be receiving multiplication fact homework each week in order to master their facts. They are responsible for writing facts 5x each. I will assign 2 numbers per week for them to write 5x each. The first set was assigned on Friday, 1/23. You can print your own worksheets to practice from Math-drills.com, play online games (see Math Websites Tab above), or borrow some "Holey Cards" from Mrs. Hall.

Fifth Grade
5th graders will cover Chapter 6 Lessons 5-10 this week as we learn to add & subtract fractions with unlike denominators, identify patterns, use properties to add or subtract and solve problems by working backwards.   There will be a Quiz on Friday and the Chapter test on Wednesday, 2/11. Use Carmen San Diego Math Models, Skills 22-26, to help with Chapter 6 skills. GOMATH Online Access:  To use the website we should continue to share the logins for numbers 1 - 4 ( instead of individual student numbers).

Multiplication Facts: Continue practicing multiplication facts at home because they are ESSENTIAL for Fractions. You can print your own worksheets from Math-drills.com, play online games (see Math Websites Tab above), or borrow some "Holey Cards" from Mrs. Hall.
