MATH
Fourth Grade
As you know, we will be taking the Iowa Tests this coming
week. The students have been
working hard on their packets and I know they are going to do great on the
test. We will have some afternoon
instruction as well as some Math games and activities in order to keep the
learning momentum moving forward.
The students will still have some homework related to the concepts of
chapter 1. We will have a short quiz on Friday and a final test on the
following Tuesday. I am very
pleased with the timed math facts tests. Keep up the good work.

Religion
This coming week we will continue
to explore ways in which we, as individuals, can be stewards of God’s creation.
We will also see a video on the purpose of Pope Francis’ visit to the United
States, which actually ties in to what we have been discussing. The 5th Grade as a whole
will begin a “community building” activity where we will be addressing the
question, “How can I contribute to our 5th Grade community at St.
Joe’s?” The purpose of this unit
is to emphasize our individual roles as contributing members of a safe, warm,
loving, and happy environment
here at school.
