Week of March 14

Happy St. Patrick's Day

MATH

Fourth Grade

This week we will probably be completing Chapter 8 – Multiplication of fractions by a whole number, fractions, and mixed numbers. I would like to have one more quiz before the end of the quarter, so we will be having a Math Vocabulary quiz this Tuesday or Wednesday. We have been drilling our vocabulary every chance we get and they should all have a copy of the words taken straight from their text book.

5th Grade Religion

This week we will begin Chapter 8 - Proclaiming the Kingdom. In this chapter we will be exploring the parables of Jesus and how He used them to teach about the Kingdom of God. The Stations of the Cross Booklets will be collected on Friday, March 18, the last day of the quarter.
Fifth Grade

5th graders will begin Chapter 8, Division of Fractions, this week.  There will be a short quiz on Friday.  We will continue practicing simplifying expressions on our Shamrock Ice Cream cones all through the month of March.

4th & 5th Grade Multiplication Facts

Most fourth graders should aim for completing 25 facts per minute and fifth graders should aim for completing 30 facts per minute. Some fifth graders have PASSED all their multiplication facts quizzes. You can print your own worksheets from Math-drills.com, play online games (see "Math Websites Tab" above), or borrow some "Holey Cards" from Mrs. Hall.

Fifth graders will begin retesting on facts they have not yet mastered this week.  Each student received a list of facts to practice each week.
