Week of May 12

MATH

Fourth Grade Math
4th graders will wrap up Chapter 10 Geometry with a Quest (Quiz/Test) on Wednesday or Thursday this week.  We will skip Chapter 11, Measuring Angles, in order to focus on Chapter 12, Measurement. To complete the most critical skills, we may be skipping some lessons, so please remember to bring assignment notebooks home to ensure correct assignments are completed.
Reminders:
To practice decimal skills covered in Chapter 9, logon to GoMath activities  "Carmen San Diego Animated Math Models" Grade 4 icon (skill 34-37) and Mega Math Fraction Action.
Students should practice Multiplication and Division basic facts frequently with worksheets, flashcards or websites.  You can print your own worksheets from Math-drills.com, play online games (see Math Websites Tab above), or borrow some "Holey Cards" from Mrs. Hall.

Fifth Grade Math
5th graders will review Metric conversions on Monday and have a Quick Quiz  on Tuesday (using their Metric Chart notes). We will master Elapsed Time learning to rename hours to minutes as one way of solving Elapsed time problems.  Then we begin Chapter 11 (The Final Chapter) on Geometry at the end of the week. Fifth graders will demonstrate multiplication fact fluency with oral drills this week.  Students should practice multiplication facts frequently  with worksheets, flashcards or websites.  You can print your own worksheets from Math-drills.com (website listed in Tab above).
Reminders:
The GoMath online activities offer good ways to practice Math skills. To practice skills for Chapter 10, GoMath Carmen San Diego Animated Math Models for Skills 33-39.
