MATH
Fourth Grade
4th graders will finish the Chapter 1 Test on Monday and begin Chapter 2, Multiply by 1 digit numbers. There will be a quiz covering Chapter 2, Lessons 1-3 on Friday. Use Carmen San Diego Math Models, Skills 5-12, to practice skills in Chapter 2.
Multiplication Facts: Each student will have an individual goal they need to meet or improve during our weekly timed facts practices. This week we will practice the 2's. We will also focus on memorizing the squares (3x3, 4x4, and so on) this week. Memorizing the squares early on will help as we progress. You can print your own worksheets from Math-drills.com, play online games (see Math Websites Tab above), or borrow some "Holey Cards" from Mrs. Hall.

Fifth Grade
5th graders will complete Chapter 1, Lesson 12 on Monday and begin reviewing for a Test on Wednesday. Use Carmen San Diego Math Models, Skills 1 - 5, to help prepare for the test.

SCIENCE
Fourth Grade
4th graders will learn to measure length and volume using the metric system.
Fifth Grade
5th graders will determine what evidence shows that the continents have moved and learn about the theory of plate tectonics.
Reading, Spelling & Vocab Highlights
Reading: No StoryTown this week. Instead, we will focus on various
comprehension skills for literature and informational text by reading
paragraphs and short selections. There will be some in class graded
assignments instead of a weekly test.
Spelling (Purple Spelling Practice Book): Lesson 3
Workbooks are due on Thursday for Mrs. Hall & Mrs. Stillo.
The Lesson 4 Test and 5x each assignment and optional Pretest
are due on Friday.

Vocabulary (Blue Workbook):
Unit 2 workbook is due Friday, Sep. 12th.
Unit 2 Test will be Monday, Sep. 22th.
Religion
The final copy for the Bullying Essay is due on Monday. Students will turn in their notes on the rubric, their rough draft and the final copy (cursive or typed). We will work on Chapter 1, God's Plan for all Creation, and have an open book test on Friday.
