Week of September 15

NOTE:  GOMATH Online Problem. There was an issue with all St. Joseph Student logins this weekend.  I am working with the Harcourt Technical Support Staff.  I restored the first 4 logins for each class, so if you want to use the website we will share the logins for numbers 1 - 4 ( instead of your individual student number).

MATH

Fourth Grade
4th graders will finish the Chapter 1 Test on Monday and begin Chapter 2, Multiply by 1 digit numbers. There will be a quiz covering Chapter 2, Lessons 1-3 on Friday.  Use Carmen San Diego Math Models, Skills 5-12, to practice skills in Chapter 2.

Multiplication Facts: Each student will have an individual goal they need to meet or improve during our weekly timed facts practices. This week we will practice the 2's. We will also focus on memorizing the squares (3x3, 4x4, and so on) this week.  Memorizing the squares early on will help as we progress. You can print your own worksheets from Math-drills.com, play online games (see Math Websites Tab above), or borrow some "Holey Cards" from Mrs. Hall.

Before and After school Math Help/Club started last week. See schedule below.

Fifth Grade
5th graders will complete Chapter 1, Lesson 12 on Monday and begin reviewing for a Test on Wednesday. Use Carmen San Diego Math Models, Skills 1 - 5, to help prepare for the test.

Multiplication Facts: Each student will have an individual goal they need to meet or improve during our timed facts practices. This week students will begin on the 2's, 5's or 9's depending on results of timed practice last week.  We will also focus on memorizing the squares (3x3, 4x4, and so on).  Memorizing the squares early on will help as we progress. You can print your own worksheets from Math-drills.com, play online games (see Math Websites Tab above), or borrow some "Holey Cards" from Mrs. Hall.

There was a nice turn out for Tuesday Mass Choir, including many fourth graders.  If your child is interested in participating in Choir for Tuesday Masses, they practice each Monday at 12:15. Students go to lunch about 5 minutes early, then attend practice during the remainder of lunch and recess.
