MATH
Fourth Grade
This week we are continuing our chapters in Geometry. I am going to combine chapters 10 and 11 as they are both the same Domain. We will be measuring and drawing angles this coming week so we will be using protractors. Our project for the 4th quarter will involve tangrams. I will send home a rubric on Friday. Also on Fridays we will have our 5 minute Frenzy facts test. We had our first one last Friday and I was pleased with the results.
Fifth Grade
This week we work in Chapter 10 to study customary and metric measurement. Students have a packet with conversion charts and extra practice. There will be a quiz on Friday and we will finish up this Chapter on Friday or Monday. Students are working on a line plot project in steps. They will use simple solutions time to get started on the last step and they will be using calculators for this project. If they don't finish during the week, the project will be due on Monday, May 2nd.
4th & 5th Grade Multiplication Facts
Most fourth graders should aim for completing 25 facts per minute and fifth graders should aim for completing 30 facts per minute. Some fifth graders have PASSED all their multiplication facts quizzes. You can print your own worksheets from Math-drills.com, play online games (see "Math Websites Tab" above), or borrow some "Holey Cards" from Mrs. Hall.
Fifth graders will begin retesting on facts they have not yet mastered this week. Each student received a list of facts to practice each week.

This week we will begin
Chapter 10 – The Mission of the Church. We will be covering the topics
concerning the Church as whole such as the significance of the Second Vatican
Council, and the life of St. Robert Bellarmine, who wrote a Catechism in the
1500’s. Everyone enjoyed our Field Trip last Tuesday. It was fun as well as
instructional. Thank You again to all the chaperones.
