MATH
Fourth Grade
This Monday we will do a short review of Chapter 8 and have the test on Tuesday. I hope to begin chapter 9 on Wednesday, which after months of fractions, is a natural segue into decimals. We will be writing decimals as fractions with denominators of 10 and 100 and relating decimals to money.
Fifth Grade
5th graders will correct the Chapter 8 Fraction Division Review and refresh our memories about fraction division. The Chapter 8 Test will be Wednesday and Thursday. This completes our Unit (green pages chapters 6,7,8) on Fractions although we will continue to have review assignments. The final Unit (purple pages) deals with Measurement, Operations with Algebra, and Geometry! We start Chapter 9, Patterns and Graphing, on Friday.
4th & 5th Grade Multiplication Facts
Most fourth graders should aim for completing 25 facts per minute and fifth graders should aim for completing 30 facts per minute. Some fifth graders have PASSED all their multiplication facts quizzes. You can print your own worksheets from Math-drills.com, play online games (see "Math Websites Tab" above), or borrow some "Holey Cards" from Mrs. Hall.
Fifth graders will begin retesting on facts they have not yet mastered this week. Each student received a list of facts to practice each week.

This week’s lessons are about unique traditions and customs in our families and the importance of communication within the family unit. Upcoming events: Cathedral Days (April 19).
