MATH
Fourth Grade
We will be
having our Chapter 3 Test on
Wednesday and Thursday of this week. It is exactly like the Review Test on
pages 189-194 in the Student Edition, so that is what your student should
study. We are also starting Math
Journals on Fridays. After having
our first Diocesan Problem solving assessment, they are becoming aware of the
fact that Math is not just about numbers, but words as well. On Tuesday we will
have our 8’s fact test and start
presenting our “Number Personalities”.
Fifth Grade
5th graders will finish Lesson 12, Problem Solving and then correct the Chapter Review to prepare for the Chapter 3 Test on Wednesday this week. A How-to-Study sheet with recommendations on preparing for the test will be distributed Monday. Students should begin reviewing all vocabulary for Chapters 1 -3 as we will have a Vocabulary test the following week.
4th & 5th Grade Multiplication Facts
This week we will test on the NINEs! Most fourth graders should aim for completing 25 facts per minute and fifth graders should aim for completing 30 facts per minute. You can print your own worksheets from Math-drills.com, play online games (see "Math Websites Tab" above), or borrow some "Holey Cards" from Mrs. Hall.
